About Farmgirl Flowers

At Farmgirl Flowers, we’re on a mission to deliver joy through thoughtfully designed flower arrangements that are anything but ordinary. We’re a bootstrapped, female-founded and predominantly female-run, and values-driven company that believes in hard work, creativity, and doing the right thing—even when it’s the hard thing. If you love rolling up your sleeves, leading by example, and thrive in fast-paced, ever-changing environments, you might be a great fit to join our team!

About the Role

Farmgirl Flowers is looking for a hands-on Operations Crew Member with strong construction skills and a “let’s build it” mindset. This role will join our lean but mighty Farm Operations team (of 3) and is for someone who’s excited to work on a wide variety of projects — from constructing outbuildings and greenhouse spaces to finishing the interior of barns to digging trenches and improving farm infrastructure across our property.

You’ll spend most of your days outdoors (rain, shine, or Washington drizzle), working on meaningful projects that shape the physical footprint of Farmgirl.

What You’ll Do

  • Take on a wide range of construction and farm-build projects, including:

    • Drywalling, insulation, and finishing interior barn spaces

    • Carpentry and framing for new builds and renovations

    • Contributing to the construction of outbuildings, greenhouses, and other farm structures

    • Outdoor projects such as trench digging, excavation, fence building, and irrigation installs

    • Light plumbing and electrical work where needed

    • Support general farm infrastructure improvements across the property

  • Safely operate tools, equipment, and machinery appropriate to each project

  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas

  • Pitch in on additional property or operations needs as they come up — our projects are always evolving

Who You Are

  • Experienced with construction, carpentry, and general repairs. This is a true jack-of-all-trades role (as most farm roles are), but we do need real, hands-on building experience.
  • Someone who genuinely loves building things — big things — and gets energized watching projects come to life.
  • Comfortable with light plumbing and electrical — or at least safety-minded, competent, and a fast learner. You’ll have an incredible teacher on our team, so you don’t need to know everything on day one, but you do need to pick things up quickly.
  • Strong enough and willing to work outdoors in the cold, wet, windy Washington weather — without complaint.
  • A natural problem-solver who notices what needs fixing and jumps on it, with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Flexible and adaptable — farm priorities change daily, and you roll with it without getting flustered.
  • Positive, reliable, and always ready to pitch in wherever the team needs you.

Requirements

  • Skilled in carpentry, drywalling, framing, and using hand/power tools

  • 5+ years in construction, facilities, or general building roles (or equivalent hands-on experience)

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outside in varied weather conditions

  • Comfortable working with power tools, heavy equipment, ladders, and machinery

  • Valid and clean driver’s license

Our Beliefs

At Farmgirl Flowers, we strive to be a company we want to buy from, sell to, and work for. This means doing the right thing, even when it’s hard. We take stands on issues we believe in and are transparent about our values, but we don’t expect employees to ascribe to those beliefs. We simply want you to feel inspired by the work we do and the impact we make.

Benefits

Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Basic life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment coverage are also available for employees. Employees can enroll in our Flexible Spending Accounts program and the company’s 401k plan, which includes a company match. Fringe benefits are available for this role. Lastly, this role is subject to our paid time off/sick policy.
